| Surveillance video shows fight between gunman and victim CCTV:TAMARAC,March 17/09. Chilling surveillance video released Wednesday by the Broward Sheriff's Office shows a bloody confrontation between a gunman and two food store workers in Tamarac this week. The footage shows Nathan Dajani, 36, whose father owns Fiesta Food Market along the 5400 block of North State Road 7, walking out of the store Tuesday night when he is attacked by a would-be robber More.., who was dressed in black with his face covered. Outside, another camera shows Dajani struggling with the robber, who flees and leaves Dajani lying on the sidewalk with multiple gunshot wounds. Also shown, is store worker Juan Uribarre, 36, coming to Dajani's aid even though he has also been shot. Uribarre used his T-shirt to control bleeding coming from Dajani's neck. He's also seen calling 911 for help. "Both these men are extremely lucky to be alive," said Broward Sheriff's Office spokesman Mike Jachles. Uribarre, whose chest wound was less severe, was treated and released at Broward General Medical Center. Dajani is still at the hospital and is expected to recover, Jachles said. The incident happened shortly before 10:45 p.m. Tuesday. The gunman had two weapons, one in each hand. He did not get any money, Jachles said. www.zuuble.com (180 clicks) |
